Our straw market basket bag is the perfect way to bring the classic style of a French farmer's market to your everyday life.

Made of sturdy, woven straw and finished with quality leather straps, this straw market bag is perfect for weekend getaways, picnics, beach trips or of course carrying groceries home from the farmers market. With its versatile design and additional straps, you can use it as a shoulder bag or tote, depending on your needs.

Ethically Handmade & Unique:

We take pride in the slow, handmade process that ensures each market bag is one-of-a-kind. Please note that bag sizes can vary slightly, and there may be occasional delays in shipping to us in Australia.

Features:
  • Fair-trade market baskets
  • Handmade in Morocco.

Our straw bags are handwoven by farmers in Morocco using fallen palm fronds. It provides income during the winter when there are no crops. As such, each market basket is unique.

Materials:
  • Made from Natural Materials (Woven Palm Leaves & leather straps).
Sturdy leather handles are made from goat, cow or camel - a sustainable by-product.
Securely hand stitched with strong waxed thread.
  • Measurements: Basket average 50cm wide x 30cm high

* As our market baskets are made from natural materials, initially there can be a natural smell that will fade within 2 weeks.

Care Notes:

If properly cared for, your straw bag will serve you for a long time. You may clean it with warm, soapy water. Allow your market bag to dry in between uses by carefully hanging it up or leave it in the sun to dry.

The leather handles may be cleaned with a leather soap but leather improves when well worn over time.

If your market basket arrives needing a little  re-shaping, simply wet it and gently pat it back into shape and allow to dry thoroughly.
